iPhone and iPod Rechargeable Travel Speakers: Altec Lansing iMT630 and iHome iDM12

Travel should not hinder you from enjoying your choice of music from your iPhone or iPod at its finest level. For any reason, whether you are on a business trip, on a family holiday, or simply for an R&R, there will be times when it feels great to escape for a while and enjoy music on your iPhone by yourself or with some intimate friends. For this purpose here are two of the best travel speakers for iPhone which are compact, rechargeable, and could fit in your backback.

Altec Lansing iMT630

Altec Lansing's latest addition to its travel speaker product line, the iMT630 brings out the best sound among the others in it group. With a length of 310 mm and a height of 135mm, it may look bulky, but it could still fit snugly in a travel bag or backpack since it is only 35mm thick. Its weight is not an issue either for it only weighs 425g.

It features a retractable dock to hold the iPhone or iPod plus an auxiliary input socket to accommodate another audio player. The sound produced is loud enough to liven up a room or enough to be heard crisp and clear by a small group of people. However, it may not satisfy those who wish to feel the pounding of the heavy drum and bass tracks.

The built-in rechargeable battery for the iMT630 can last for up to seven hours, so it would accompany you through the night while partying at the beach or while enjoying your barbecue afternoon gathering.

iHome iDM12

The iHome iDM12 is a compact speaker with a big sound. Measuring only 180mm long, it could easily fit in a large pocket and can be carried anywhere. Perhaps because of its size, it is designed without a dock. Bluetooth is used for streaming music from the iPad, iPhone, iPod, or practically eny device that has a bluetooth streaming function.

The battery life can last up to eight hours. An auxiliary input is also available; however, its charging and audio cable is specially provided by iHome and is not a standard cable.

For its size and weight, the sound quality is loud and clear. It boasts of a special feature to amplify the bass sound thru its 5RS TruBass. Turning this feature on may make the speaker vibrate more than needed, thus, you may have to turn down the volume a bit should this function be used.

For those who want a small speaker with a big sound, this is a good choice.

Both speakers have their own exceptional qualities. Choose the one which fits your lifestyle and needs best.
