The Washington state Administrative Office of the Courts has been hacked and 94 Social Security numbers have been obtained, along with one million driver's license numbers and 160,000 additional Social Security numbers that may have been acquired.

The office announced today that the breach of data occurred in February.?No court records have been altered, and no financial data was accessed.

The compromised information belongs to individuals who were booked into a city or county jail in Washington state between September 2011 and December 2012; received a DUI citation in the state from 1989 through 2011; had a traffic case filed or resolved in a district or municipal court in 2011 or 2012; or had a superior court criminal case that was filed or resolved in 2011 or 2012.

?We regret that this breach has occurred, and we have taken immediate action to enhance the security of these sites,? said Washington State Court Administrator Callie T. Dietz.

A significant amount of data was downloaded from the Washington Courts website at www.courts.wa.gov during the breach.

The 94 individuals whose Social Security numbers were obtained will be notified via letter. The office warns that no one from the Administrative Office of the Courts, or any court in Washington sate, will be asking citizens for personal information over the phone or via email regarding this incident, and?individuals should take precautions to monitor their credit.
